Snowtrax Acquires Leading Ski and Snowboard Synthetic Surface Manufacturer

“Where we’re going, we don’t need snow!”

January 4, 2018 – Ski and Snowboard Activity Centre in Dorset announces its acquisition of one of the most advanced synthetic ski slope matting manufacturers in the world. Proslope matting is at the cutting edge of ‘dry ski slope’ matting design, offering a much greater skiing and snowboarding experience for absolute beginners, right up to seasoned Freestyle professionals.

Snowtrax Managing Director, Colin Iseard explains “As one of the leading outdoor ski slopes on the south coast, we have studied the ski and snowboard surface offering for a number of years. There is nothing in the market that offers the same excellent surface composition, durability and fun factor as Proslope matting. Over the years we have worked closely with Proslope and I am delighted to say that through our acquisition of the company, we will be looking to improve other outdoor ski slopes across the country!”

Snowtrax has been the test bed for the Proslope surface since 2011. In 2014 the Ski Centre completely resurfaced their whole 110ft main slope and beginner teaching areas with Proslope matting, hugely boosting the customer participant and enjoyment factor.

With many UK Dry Ski Slopes struggling to improve lesson attendance due to the opening of Indoor Snowdomes, Proslope offers a genuine alternative to the outdoor institutions, delivering advantages on cost, maintenance & customer satisfaction.

Well known UK Ski instructor, Warren Smith said “First impressions of Proslope matting are that it grips so much better in the turns and feels a lot safer than the other surfaces I’ve ever skied. I would 100% want to run my academy ski coaching on this surface, it’s a real go-er!”

To begin with, Snowtrax is looking to double the amount of UK slopes using Proslope. With the aim to dramatically increase the amount of people learning to ski or snowboard in the fresh outdoors, which in turn will naturally further boost the talent pool for Team GB’s future Olympic squads!
